Shure SE112 GR Sound Earphones
Shure SE112-GR Sound Isolating Earphones, Dynamic MicroDriver for great sound with deep bass and impressive sound isolation. It provide excellent sound quality and secure ear inserts for an affordable price, but they’re a hassle to put on.
Design
The Shure SE112 Sound Isolating Earphones look unassuming at first, but they have small design touches that make them unique. First, the earbud backs are little orbs, rather than torpedolike ovals or flat disks like other traditional earbuds. These orbs are friendly and satisfying to hold, and they also provide an excellent base for gripping the buds and putting them in your ear.
Audio Quality
The Shure SE112 Sound Isolating Earphones pump out magnificent sound but could stand for more oomph behind the bass. Ne-Yo’s “Let Me Love You” had strong pianos and loud, robust vocals, but the ever-important beat could have been punchier.
Lows
The lows in the SE112 are solid, though not particularly emphasized. They extend somewhat small, though they fall toward the most accurate side of the spectrum so that you won’t hear any boosted bass frequencies.
Mids
The mids are slightly forward, though not overly so, just enough to give vocals a slight emphasis. There is no mud in the lower mids and no harshness in the higher mids.
Highs
The highs are crisp with plenty of detail, adding a beautiful shimmer without any harshness.
Comfort
The SE112 are ostensibly designed to be worn inverted, with the cable wrapped around the back of the ear. However, the angle of the driver housing is such that the buds work in either direction, and we found them to be more comfortable (and much easier to take in and out) in the standard earbud configuration, with the cable extending from the bottom. We also noticed nominal performance differences.

Conclusion
With the Shure SE112 earbuds, it all comes down to what’s important to you. They’re not packed with features, in fact, they pretty much just have one feature: they make things sound good. If that’s what matters the most to you, then the $49 you spend on these will be money well spent, provided you don’t have the same issues with the comfort that I did. If you’re looking for a pair of earbuds to wear to the gym or you need a built-in mic and remote, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
