It does a better job with speech, however, which sounds crisp and articulate or at least as understandable as whoever’s speaking.

You won’t have any problems switching it on or connecting it to a smartphone or tablet over Bluetooth. There are volume controls on the speaker, while the Harman Kardon Esquire Min i button doubles as a play/pause button when you’re not in a call. It keeps a good hold of a Bluetooth wireless signal within the same room.

Beyond Bluetooth, the only way to connect the speaker to a source is a 3.5mm input.

Get it charged, and the battery will last for a good eight hours, and thou container more uses the USB port to charge other devices, including your smartphone. You can also check battery levels quickly by pressing and holding the on/off button.

If you’re more interested in speech and hands-free calls than music, then this is a good speaker you can carry with you everywhere. Just beware the lack of bass.

Harman Kardon Soho

These Harman Kardon Soho slim headphones may be one of the most stylish sets of on-ear models around, but they can’t compete with established rivals when it comes to sound and comfort.

The model we tested came with a universal in-line remote, most suited to Android mobile phones. If you have an Apple device, opt for the Harman Kardon Soho headphones instead they have a slightly different in-line remote, adding the functionality to skip back and forward through tracks.

The Soho on-ear headphones are very portable, so are designed for people who listen to music on the move but don’t like the idea of headphones that sit inside your ear canal. They’re one of the lightest of this type we have tested and have an ingenious folding mechanism so shouldn’t take up too much room in your bag.

Considering Harman Kardon Soho has kitted out luxury car brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover with its audio equipment, we had high hopes for the Soho headphones. Unfortunately, they were short-lived.

While they are certainly not the worst we have ever heard, they just don’t offer anything particularly unique and are a little bass heavy.

They are clearly well made and shouldn’t damage too easily especially if you store them in the hard travel case when not in use. There are also some features to help make life easier, including ear cups that fold up into the headband, and magnetic pads that sit on the ear cups to keep the cable in place.

If you want so stand out from the crowd, these headphones also come in bright white or brown each with a colour coordinated chain.

These should only last bought if you rate style over substance if you fall into that you might also want to consider the Bowers & Wilkins P3. You’re better off checking out some of our Best Buy headphones.

Homelite 38cc

Homelite 38cc Petrol Chainsaw

This large Homelite 38cc petrol chainsaw cuts quickly and cleanly through logs. It’s easy to use and handle. It just missed out on being a Best Buy because it’s not as easy to tension the chain or to start from the cold as some other petrol machines, and is also let down by poor instructions.

A moderately priced, large, powerful Homelite 38c c petrol chainsaw. It has a 38cc two-stroke engine and comes with either a 35cm or 40cm blade. It has a dial that allows the chain tension to last corrected by hand, and oil- and fuel-level window.

This chainsaw is easy to use and has no problems making repeat cuts on logs up to 30cm. It cuts quickly and cleanly through wood, so you don’t have to apply much pressure, and it feels smooth to handle. Once the chain is locked up initially, it doesn’t need much adjustment. If you’re felling a tree, it’s easy to align the chainsaw so that the tree falls in the correct position.

Homelite 38cc

Overall, this is a great chainsaw, but it’s let down by a few niggles. It isn’t as easy to tension the chain as the simple dial arrangement would suggest. You have to practice positively a bit of pressure on the control to get the chain to stay at the correct tension. It doesn’t start from the cold as quickly as some other petrol machines and has a tendency to stall until it’s fully warmed up.

Homelite 38cc

Related alone petrol chainsaw cuts chainsaws, this one, is moderately vociferous. This passage connecting the handle including the body leaves some wire exposed, including it doesn’t resemble particularly robust.

It’s not a remarkable evil chainsaw, but you could purchase a First Buy chainsaw for around the same price.

HP Deskjet 1010

HP Deskjet 1010 Printing costs look favourable with this printer, and print quality is reasonable, but it uses a combined colour cartridge which may increase ink costs depending on how you write.

It’s a no-frills standard colour HP Deskjet 101 0 printer. It’s ideal for printing sharp black text cheaply. Any printers strike theirs version covers if thou just write regularly. The uses ink that will never reach the paper.

This printer doesn’t seem to use any extra ink when occasionally printing, compared with writing the same number of pages in one go.

HP Deskjet 1010

That is low compared with most other inkjet printers we’ve tested and printing black text and colour pages out cheaper than average.

Text prints look sharp more like the excellent quality we used to see from Deskjet 1010 printers. Graphics prints look reasonable if a little soft and sometimes uneven. Photo prints lack a bit of punch.

HP Deskjet 1010

Print speed is good text prints at the fairly average rate of 7.3 pages per minute and an A4 photo is out of the printer in around three minutes, which isn’t bad.

It uses a combined colour cartridge. Whenever thou print a lot of one colour, you will have to replace the other colours when the first one runs out, which will have an impact on your ink operating costs.

HP Deskjet 1010

You’re limited to just USB connectivity with this printer so you have to connect it directly to the device yourself printing from, and there’s no USB cable in the box so you’ll have to buy one separately. It can’t print borderless 6×4-inch photos.

If you’re very looking as something cheap to print text from a single computer or laptop this Deskjet 1010 printer is a reasonable choice, but if you want to print from more devices, you’ll want a more versatile printer.

HTC One Mini 2

The HTC One Mini 2 is a large phone that narrowly misses out on being deemed a Best Buy. It hasn’t quite got the impressive list of features found on its bigger brother, the M8, and we would like it to have a faster processor and longer battery life, but it’s a decent option for those looking for a small Android phone.

It’s a scaled down version of the HTC One Mini 2 (mounted hair both regarding size and specification). It has a 4.5-inch screen, runs on Android and offers superfast 4G connectivity. It’s a sleek and stylish phone. The metal finish makes it slightly heavier than other phones of this size, but it does still lend it a premium feel. Its 4.5-inch screen is rather small by today’s standards, but that does mean it’s comfortable to hold in one hand, and your fingers won’t be stretching to reach the far corner of the touchscreen. It is worth noting that some might find the metal finish a little slippery.

HTC One Mini 2

It has the same 720×1,280 resolution screen which is the same as its predecessor. While we were a little disappointed that it didn’t get an upgrade, it still makes text and graphics appear sharp. It’s OK for watching the video, but sadly not the best we found it to be a little grainy and the motion could be smoother. And as with many phones, the display looks faded when you take it outside. The touchscreen is fast and responsive.

It has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor; it’s a little slow and, it won’t suit you if you want to play graphics-heavy games. But if you’re content with browsing the internet and playing the odd puzzle, it will be fast enough.

The works on the latest version of Google’s Android operating system (4.4.2 or KitKat). Android is much easy to use, although it will take a bit of getting used to if you haven’t seen it before. Unlike Apple’s iOS, it lets you customize the different homepages. It also gives you access to millions of apps, books, movies and games from the Google Play store.

HTC One Mini 2

HTC One has overlaid this with its Sense interface, so it looks a little different to Android phones from other manufacturers and has some unique features. The most noticeable addition is BlinkFeed, which pulls together stories you force be interested in from various news sites and updates from your social networks. Drawing on a tile will show you the article, tweet or photo in full-screen mode.

It has two front-facing speakers which provide reasonable call quality. And it’s good for listening to music while on the move, thanks to a decent pair of bundled headphones. We found they produce clear sound with an impressive amount of detail.

Battery life is good it’ll give just under 15 hours of call time, or seven hours of web browsing. That is an improvement on its predecessor but isn’t the best around. It’s also worth noting that the One Mini 2 is a tight unit, which means you won’t be able to replace the battery if it fails.

HTC One Mini 2

HTC has ditched the 4Mp ‘Ultra Pixel’ camera found on the M8 and the original One Mini, and equipped this with a 13Mp resolution auto-focus camera instead. Overall it takes good snaps. One criticism would be the flash, which isn’t powerful enough and makes for dark and slightly grainy photos in low light conditions. It’s acceptable for taking the occasional video too, although you’ll notice there is some stutter with moving subjects.

And finally, it’s good for those who like to take the perfect selfie, thanks to the 5Mp front-facing camera this has a higher resolution than you’d find with many rivals. It’s tricky to insert the SIM card; you’ll need to use your fingernail to prise it open.Is there anything else I should know? Of the 16GB of storage space, just over 10GB is free for use. And unlike the first generation Mini, it comes with a memory card slot, so you can add an extra 128GB of storage if you need to.

That is a stylish phone, with a bright screen and expandable memory. It could be speedier, and we’d like the battery to last a bit longer, but overall it does a good job. If you’re looking for something a little cheaper and don’t mind sacrificing this phone’s good looks, then also consider the more affordable HTC One Desire 610. Huawei Ascend Y530

The Huawei Ascend Y530 is a reasonable smartphone if you’re on a tight budget. The price (around £90 or from £8 a month on a contract with no upfront fee) is very appealing, and though the features aren’t in the Best Buy league, they’re OK. But the little memory and mediocre camera are the main drawbacks.

The Huawei Ascend Y53 0 is a cheap and cheerful Android smartphone. What’s it like to use? It’s a bit smaller than many new phones. It’s relatively comfortable to hold (the textured rear casing gives some grip) and use one-handed. The 4.5-inch screen is a decent size for watching films or surfing the web, and though the resolution (854×480 pixels) is pretty modest, it’s adequate.

Huawei Ascend Y530

The phone runs on the familiar (to many) Android operating system. Android is easy enough to use (though it will be a shock if you’ve never used a smartphone) and lets you customize the different homepages. That isn’t the latest version (it’s 4.3, not 4.4) but still has the key features, such as Google’s excellent Maps and Mail programs, and lets you download millions of apps, books, films and games from the Google Play store.

Huawei Ascend Y530

Sound quality on calls is OK but dips when there’s loud background noise. Battery life online is above average (we managed almost seven hours from a single charge) but a little less so on calls (we managed just under 11 hours). The battery is detachable, so you can swap in a spare if you run out of power or easily replace it should it develop a fault.

The 5Mp camera is about average for a budget phone. It has auto focus and a LED flash, plus a limited range of camera settings, but the photos it produces are unlikely to set your pulse racing. We also found it easy to obscure the lens when taking pictures (especially in landscape orientation).

The video camera is of a similar standard. It’ll do the job, but the footage it records looks blocky and lacks detail. The Ascend Y530 has a primary forward-facing camera for selfies and video calls.Is there anything I should watch pay as.

There’s only a tiny (4GB) internal memory of which just 1.77GB is available to use. You can boost this by adding a memory card (up to 32GB), but some apps can only do saved on the phone itself. Once the internal memory is full, you’ll need to delete things to make space. Otherwise, the phone won’t work properly. The weak processor and limited RAM means that the phone will struggle to run power-hungry applications (such as games). But web pages open pretty quickly over 3G (the phone isn’t 4G compatible).

Ascend Y530

The headphones have handy controls in the lead but produce a weedy sound. Should I buy it? It’s a good-value option, but if you can afford to spend a bit more, we’d recommend our favorite budget option, the Motorola Moto G.
