Here is a fantastic new PC from Acer. From the budget price tag to the sturdy PC stand and Full HD screen, the Acer Aspire Z3 615 is a solid Best Buy winner – proving that a good PC doesn’t have to cost the earth to be good quality.

The Acer Aspire Z3 615  is a 23-inch Full HD all-in-one PC, running Windows 8.1. The model we tested featured a Core i3 processor, 6 GB of memory, a 1 TB (1,000 GB) hard drive and Intel integrated graphics.

There are other variations available which include a touchscreen, a Core i5/i7 processor, 8 GB of memory, or a 500 GB/2 TB storage capacities. If you’re watching to save a little more money, this model can also act configured with a Celeron processor, but the PC will be slower overall.

This model is fantastic for watching DVDs or catch-up TV via the web – the screen is bright, with good color accuracy. It has plenty of memory for multi-tasking between applications, while the large hard drive provides all the storage you need for photos, music, and documents.

The Z3 features a solid aluminum stand, a welcome addition compared to the flimsy plastic stands we do present to seeing on budget PCs. You can’t adjust the PC’s height, but the stand fits quickly to let you tilt the screen.

A wireless keyboard and mouse do supply. The keyboard is a little smaller than we’re done too, with some of the keys feeling slightly cramped, but overall we found it doesn’t hinder typing speed.

IPS

The Acer Aspire Z3 615 features a unique 23-inch full-HD display. The matte surface helps to cut down on screen reflections. The show also uses IPS technology, which means it’s always clear and bright no matter what angle you view that off.

When it comes to sound quality, the Z3’s speakers impressed us with a good balance of treble and bass, and there’s no distortion at higher volumes.

There are no physical controls for adjusting brightness or volume on the PC chassis, although you can control the amount by pressing a combination of keys on the keyboard. We think the USB ports are too close together at the rear of the PC, especially when you’re using large USB memory sticks – we struggled to fit two side by side.

Connection options include two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and an SD card reader. The Z3 also includes HDMI input and output ports, ideal for connecting the PC to a larger screen such as a TV or a projector. You can connect wirelessly to other devices using 802.11n wi-fi or Bluetooth.

The Acer Aspire Z3 – 615 is a great PC that’s speedy enough for everyday tasks, with a good range of multimedia options. Also, it’s available in different configurations, so you can choose the specifications that best suit your needs and budget.
